Vases

This painting originated from a photo a friend sent to me and said you should paint this. Though I knew it was would be a challenge, I took it and got right to work. I began with a rough trace of the photo to help get the shapes of the glasses. Next, I got to work on the painting. My palette consists of Alizarin Crimson, Indian Yellow, Phthalo Blue, Mars Black and Titanium White. For the glasses, I included other colors to help get the bright and vibrant colors. This painting took a month of daily work and a few hand injuries, but I am happy with the results.
