Lightness and Being

This portrait was done in remembrance of a beloved family member, whose beautiful life was cut short by breast cancer. The hummingbirds are symbolic of an event that occurred during her memorial service. It was held outside around a water fountain, where a hummingbird flew in and started to flit around in the water, then flew off, buzzing every person present in the circle before disappearing. She loved hummingbirds!
