This was painted in pleinair at the First Brush of Spring paint out in New Harmony Indiana. I was drawn to this scene by the value contrast and composition of the rail cars, tracks and stack of rail ties. I used a variety of application techniques to paint this; brush, palette knife, spatters, and the brush handle.
