My fancy-tailed friend! Somehow, even though I was born in Maine and have lived here for 47 years... I never noticed that some seagulls (herring gulls) have polka-dots on their tail feathers!! Just a few weeks ago, my husband and I stopped to have a snack along Ocean Drive in Acadia National Park after hiking Gorham Mountain and this one seagull stood on a nearby granite rock watching us; the wind was blowing and ruffling a few of its feathers. The seagull even turned this way and that, striking a few different poses, while I photographed it!
