The Great Reduction

I began this painting by writing out my thoughts on late autumn/early winter across the cradled board, which was then taken to this site to be painted en plein air in oils. It was quite cold, so I had to dash in and out of the car to work in 10 minute intervals, cursing and shivering while painting in thick leather gloves. The painting was then finished in the studio with oil pastel
