Inbound Storm -Totavi

An incoming storm from the south on the second day of summer at Totavi Station near Los Alamos. A plateau comes east off the Jemez mountains and ends in these cliffs. On that day there was a massive storm moving in and the clouds streaming in from the south. There was a smash of light on that buttress and crossing the road in front. It was such a staggering image and banked it in my memory for a painting. I later went back down to the road where I saw my painting, took a photo of the landscape for the shapes, and recreated what I saw.
