This started as a Plein Air piece that I finished in the studio. Originally the bird was a Blue Heron but I didn't like the lack of contrast so I made him a White Heron instead. The creek is the Little Indian which meanders through our little town of Corydon Indiana. I paint in oils on oil primed Classen's linen that I stretched.
