Sea Butterfly

Layered with chalk pastels, watercolors and acrylic on purple cartridge paper, the composition is formed around the concept of sea butterfly.
This conceptual panorama is a fictional narrative of metamorphosis of a sea butterfly, emerging from its chrysalis in the lost city of Atlantis. In the wake of sunset, when Atlantis is just a forgotten shipwreck, the wandering sea snail resurges from the ocean’s depth. When it reaches the piercing surface, the turbulent waves unfold into a series of wings, that forms the surrealistic composition of a butterfly.
